Hello my name is Jessica Thompson and I am a senior from Westville, Indiana. I'm an education major and since I have not gone abroad for my global experience, my eFolio is going to be slightly different than what has typically been done in the past. When I arrived at Holy Cross I had originally decided to major in communications. In the summer of my sophomore year my grandmother passed away, she had always wanted me to become a teacher. After thinking seriously about my future I decided that my grandmother's suggestion was correct. Deep down I wanted to be a teacher so I switched my major to education.  This change in major turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made. 

       I chose to attend Holy Cross because of its small size and proximity to my home town. The smaller class size and the ability to get personalized help from professors really helped aid in my decision. Holy Cross has provided me with many different learning opportunities that I didn't feel other colleges could offer me. The experiences that I have had at Holy Cross have been positive learning experiences. One of the main reasons Holy Cross College was the right choice for me was because, it allowed me to enjoy the experiences of  being in classrooms before my student teaching/ internship experience officially began.
